Secretary of State Investigators Lodge #95
The sworn investigators and Capitol Police of the Illinois Secretary of State — protecting the State Capitol complex and pursuing identity, document, and vehicle crime across all 102 Illinois counties.
One lodge, three sworn forces
Lodge #95 represents current and retired Illinois Secretary of State Police Investigators, Capitol Police officers, and Illinois Commerce Commission police — the men and women whose work keeps Illinois' identity systems, motor-vehicle commerce, and seat of government secure.
SOS Investigators
Plainclothes investigators enforcing the Illinois Vehicle Code and uncovering driver's license, ID, title, and dealer fraud — often alongside ISP, local agencies, and the FBI on joint task forces.
Capitol Police
The primary police agency for the nine-building State Capitol complex in Springfield — life-safety, threat detection, and criminal enforcement across the entire seat of Illinois government.
ICC Police
Illinois Commerce Commission officers working motor-carrier safety, commercial vehicle enforcement, and cooperative investigations with our investigators statewide.
The Capitol — and the credibility of every Illinois ID
Every driver's license, vehicle title, and identification card issued in Illinois rests on the work of Secretary of State Police. Our investigators run document-fraud cases, dismantle identity-theft schemes, and inspect dealerships to make sure stolen vehicles don't pass into honest hands.
- Driver's license & ID fraud investigations
- Title, registration & dealer-licensing enforcement
- Capitol Complex protective services
- Specialized units — Tactical, Bomb Squad, Underwater
- Joint task forces with ISP, FBI & local agencies
Statewide reach, specialized capability
Statewide jurisdiction
Our investigators carry full police powers throughout the State of Illinois and routinely cross county lines pursuing organized fraud and trafficking rings.
The seat of government
Capitol Police are the primary law-enforcement agency inside the nine buildings of the State Capitol complex — the only department with that primary jurisdiction.
Always on call
From late-night Capitol coverage to identity-theft warrants served at dawn — our members answer the call day and night, holiday and weekend.
Programs we proudly support
Lodge #95 puts donations to work inside Illinois — supporting fellow officers in need, mentoring the next generation, and giving kids the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
Cops & Bobbers
Officers teaching kids to fish — building trust between law enforcement and the next generation, one cast at a time.
Project BlueLife
A peer-driven wellness initiative developed by members of Lodge #95 and supported by the Illinois State FOP — looking out for the mental health of those who look out for us.
Officers in Need
Direct, no-red-tape assistance to lodge members and their families during illness, injury, or family hardship.
Scholarships
College support for the children of members and for students pursuing careers in law enforcement and criminal justice.
End of Watch
Honoring fallen members and standing with their families — long after the funerals and the speeches are over.
Community Partnerships
From local fishing derbies to civic events, the lodge shows up — in uniform and out — where the community needs us.
